We might all still be caught up in the excitement of the holiday season and New Year, but tax season is fast approaching. Below are the upcoming tax deadlines you must stay on top of.
Strategically Optimize Your 2019 Taxes
You have until December 31, 2019 to strategically maximize charitable donations and your 401K contributions. However, you have until the 2020 tax deadline of April 15th to max out your IRA.
Tax Documents
You have until January 31, 2019 to postmark your employee W-2s and 1099-Misc. If you are waiting to receive your documents in the mail, wait at least a week until you reach out to see where any missing tax documents are. Also, consider sending or checking to see if you can receive electronic documents too.
File Your Taxes By April 15, 2020
The deadline to file your taxes in 2020 is Wednesday, April 15
File Your S Corporation and Partnerships Taxes Returns By April 15, 2020
March 16 is also the deadline to file for an extension for S corp and partnership tax returns.
Quarterly Business Taxes
The next 4 estimated business taxes are due as follows:
- 4th Quarter 2019 estimated taxes are due by January, 15 2020.
- 1st Quarter 2018 taxes are due by April 15, 2020.
- 2nd Quarter 2018 taxes are due by June 15, 2020.
- 3rd Quarter 2018 taxes are due by September 15, 2020.
